PURPOSE: TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG EQUESTRIAN PEOPLE TO PURSUE FURTHERING
THEIR EDUCATION IN THE PROFESSION OF THEIR CHOICE.
THE WILLIAM LOFTIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IS AWARDED ANNUALLY.
EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 13, 2011, THE RECIPIENT WILL HAVE FOUR (4) YEARS
FROM THE DATE THE AWARD IS ANNOUNCED, TO USE THOSE FUNDS. ANY UNUSED
FUNDS AT THE END OF THIS FOUR (4) YEAR PERIOD WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM
THE RECIPIENT AND SHALL REVERT TO THE PEHSC WILLIAM LOFTIN MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP FUND.
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT for 2016 (To be presented January 2017): $2000.

SCHOLARSHIP PAYMENT: The Scholarship will be made by a Bank Draft
made Direct to the Recipient’s choice of a Higher Learning
Institution. The Students ID (as assigned by the Institution) to be
provide and included on the Memo Line of the Draft.

PROCESS: During the screening process, attention is focused on
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE; The QUANTITY AND QUALITY of SCHOOL AND
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES; EMPLOYMENT experience; LEADERSHIP ABILITIES;
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS; and the desire to enter a PROFESSIONAL FIELD.
The selection committee may obtain any additional background
information, if necessary. TYPE WRITTEN FORMS REQUIRED.
VIDEO INTERVIEWS can be requested, as well as INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEWS
WITH APPLICANTS may be an OPTION.
